SIMAQ Sa

QKD Via SAT

Bringing QKD VIA Sat solutions to governments and enterprises across Saudi Arabia.

QKD Via Satellite

Satellite enabled Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) expands quantum secure communication beyond ground-based fibre networks, facilitating worldwide encryption. In contrast to fibre based QKD, which suffers from optical losses over extended distances, satellite QKD sends quantum-encrypted keys via free space, greatly minimizing attenuation and facilitating secure key exchange over far-off locations.

Satellites produce and share quantum keys through entangled photons  or weak coherent laser pulses, guaranteeing highly secure data transmission for governments, military operations, and financial organisations.

SIMAQ will be initially utilising partner QKDsats  secure keys through its state of art quantum optical ground station. SIMAQ quantum optical ground station will 1st of its kind modular quantum optical ground station. This ground station will be capable to operate with faint pulse and entangled based QKDSats.

Building Saudi Arabia Quantum-Safe Network

What is Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) via Satellite?

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) via satellite uses the power of space-based technology to securely transmit encryption keys between two parties. By leveraging the unique properties of quantum mechanics, satellite-based QKD ensures that any attempt to eavesdrop on the transmission of keys is detectable, providing a high level of security that is resistant to both traditional and quantum-based attacks.

How long do I get support?

Satellite-based QKD is crucial because it enables secure communication over vast distances where terrestrial fiber-optic cables are not practical or cost-effective. It also provides an unprecedented level of security by using the laws of quantum physics, which are fundamentally unbreakable by classical hacking methods. As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, satellite QKD offers a quantum-safe method of protecting sensitive communications.

Can QKD via Satellite be used for global communications?

Yes, satellite-based QKD is ideal for global communications, as satellites can cover vast areas, including remote and hard-to-reach regions where terrestrial networks are unavailable. This allows secure key exchange between ground stations located anywhere in the world, enabling secure global communication networks.
